Ashtanga

Ashtanga

The Ashtanga yoga system, based on the classical teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, builds strength, stamina and flexibility through increasingly challenging series of postures that become more and more acrobatic, flight-like, and magical as the yogi advances in the practice. If you're newer to yoga, try Mysore-style classes (named for the yoga style’s hometown in India) to embrace the yogic spirit of individualism and work on your own personal practice at your own pace under the guidance of an experienced teacher. Or for a challenge, drop into a Led-Ashtanga class to flow through the fast-paced, sweaty, yet meditative Primary Series fueled by the collective energy of the class.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga works to tone muscles as it builds flexibility and stamina. Your flow will focus on weight-bearing standing poses, which build the heat necessary to aid stretching. Perfect for athletes, stronger practitioners, and multitaskers, Power Yoga is an accessible way to increase flexibility while also getting a workout. Shift your practice into a higher gear and see where it takes you.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa Flow

Perhaps the most popular style practiced in the West, these classes keep you moving! You’ll flow continuously through strong sequences of traditional Sun Salutations and standing postures, linking breath with movement and work to build strength and endurance as you push the edge of your balance and flexibility. In Sanskrit vinyasa means “to place in a special way,” and that informs the graceful dance that is a well-planned vinyasa sequence. When you hit that sweet spot and the endorphins kick in, a pushup suddenly becomes an exercise in weightlessness—you glide, you float, you sail into a blissful final relaxation. Now you get the hype, right?
