
This six-month program is designed to transition a 200-Hour yoga teacher training graduate into a professional, working yoga teacher. Through a combination of a six-month apprenticeship with a mentor teacher, a six month weekend workshop series & practice teaching series, trainees will refine their teaching skills, identify areas of expertise, and set the foundation for fully incorporating yoga into their life path.
Learn to teach yoga through the apprenticeship program, trainees work closely with a senior teacher and build a consistent, one-on-one relationship and on-going dialogue with their mentor. Trainees will work on practice teaching in the classroom and build upon what they learned in their initial training, solidifying and integrating the information.
Through your apprenticeship you will:
• Develop a one-on-one relationship with your mentor, who will guide you throughout the program and beyond.
• Observe your mentor in action – instructing, sequencing, adjusting and inspiring.
• Cultivate your teaching skills as you assist your mentor in class, honing your ability to see bodies, offer modifications and give hands-on adjustments.
• Reinforce this learning process in small group meetings with your mentor, your opportunity to address questions and issues related to teaching yoga.
Each month you will participate in weekend workshops to further develop your toolkit of skills. Workshops include:
• Hands-on adjustments, observing bodies, modifications
• Injury assessment and management
• Meditation, subtle body and tantra
• Working with beginners and pregnant women
• How to teach vinyasa flow and advanced asana
• The business of yoga
Upon completion students will receive a diploma and Letter of Completion which they can use to register with the Yoga Alliance at the RYT-500hour level and share with prospective employers. Graduates will also be elligible to apply for the YogaWorks Certification assessment.
