Why I Practice
I have discovered yoga is a tool for emotional healing and ongoing physical, mental and spiritual development. Yoga helps me integrate all the different ways I move, feel, exist and act in the world and it helps to remind me of who I am and what is most important to me. Through yoga I find strength, compassion and presence and am able to extend that into my life and my work in the world.
Why I Teach
I think many of us are looking for an answer -- a way to feel happier, more fulfilled, more connected and better able to celebrate the complex beauty life presents. I like teaching yoga because I feel that I am sharing the positive impact and influence yoga has had on me with others who are searching for deeper meaning, greater healing and more profound connection. Also, I love the witnessing ripple effects of a yoga class and how the practice can instigate profound change.
I am passionate about healing - about each and every one of us letting go of our fears & recognizing that we all deserve to be loved & nurtured. For this reason I have worked with many non-profits serving at risk youth, most recently with The Art of Yoga Project, serving incarcerated teens, and currently with Off the Mat Into the World, supporting community, action and purpose within the yoga community and in the world at large.
