Still in awe that the same exercise system can be used so effectively and safely by elite athletes, expectant mothers, and people suffering from chronic pain or injuries, I believe Pilates is an invaluable tool to help us all achieve better health, balance, and happiness in our lives.
Why I Practice
As Joseph Pilates says: "Physical fitness is the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily, and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure"
Why I Teach
I have been teaching the Pilates method since 2002. In that time I have had the pleasure of working with students of all ages, shapes, needs, and backgrounds. I am consistently humbled by the human body’s ability to heal and change. My first encountered Pilates as part of my rehabilitation from a figure skating injury. The method so dramatically improved my strength, grace, endurance, and bio-mechanics both on and off the ice that I was inspired to become a teacher.
