I find inspiration from so many sources, from my longstanding interest in Eastern philosophies, to the life-changing daily practice of remaining in the moment. I am deeply grateful for the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn and his ability to distill some of the most complex theories for living a fulfilling life, into the practice of Mindfulness Meditation.
Why I Practice
I find that a well rounded class brings a combination of stretching, toning, balance, and deep relaxation that both invigorates and calms the mind and body, giving me the impression that I have experienced something profound-- mentally, physically, and spiritually. All of which leaves me feeling refreshed, energized, and able to face life’s challenges with equanimity.
Why I Teach
For me, teaching is a natural progression from receiving the benefits of yoga, to providing an opportunity for others to discover the same wonderful benefits. I teach to share the transformative experience that a regular yoga practice creates for our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Having grown up traveling and performing around the world with my family in Holiday On Ice beginning at age 4, I bring to my teaching the accumulated experience of a lifetime of athletic training as a professional ice skater and ballet dancer. Whether teaching ballet classes, watercolor painting classes, AP English and French, guided meditation or yoga, I find it very rewarding to share the techniques of what I love with others so that they might enjoy the same fulfillment.
