Yoga Studios
If you want to achieve the best results from holistic yoga practice, yoga studios are better places to practice than gyms. The classes held at gyms tend to focus only on the physical. This is probably because people at gyms are looking for stretching and toning, better sleep or good ways to wind down after strenuous workouts. Also, gym classes are often shorter than those at studios and don't give you enough time to get into the deeper benefits of yoga, such as meditation, better concentration and living mindfully.
Yoga studios tend to offer quieter, more relaxed environments than gyms. Practice rooms may have larger windows to allow more natural light in, and they may have mirrored walls, so you can check your form throughout the class. Studios also tend to offer a variety instructors, different styles and varied class levels, so you can choose your own path. This differs from the one-size-fits-all Hatha yoga approach you'll see at most gyms.
