Yoga is NOW because our practice teaches us to ingrain the tools we need to strive for the present moment. Looking backwards can thrust us into our heads and all the whacky stories attached to them. Looking forward can often add unnecessary anxiety and worry. There is simply nothing to control about our past or future. The present moment though… Ahhh this one has some good stuff. The present moment has a peacefulness because it can be clear and void of distractions. The mental energy needed is calmer if there is less confusion. It’s a great head start to choose to look for balance and equilibrium. No matter how nuts the present moment may be! The present moment is less complicated and more forgiving. It’s kinder and more compassionate. It tells the truth. We are all equipped to embrace the truth.
