Erin Tschantret is a 500 Hour RYT Yoga Instructor registered with Yoga Alliance, a Reiki Master, Shaman and the Teacher Manager at YogaWorks Baltimore. She currently offers Healing Yoga and Yin Yoga at YogaWorks in Towson. Erin is also the Yoga Program Director at Bryn Mawr School and teaches all of the 9th and 10th graders mindfulness as an intrinsic part of their yoga practice. Erin is trained in Transcendental Meditation and teaches Vipasana, Walking and Metta Meditation. Join David Martin, Emily Lodge and Jen Lyons for a Heart Opening experience as we combine delicious cacao, pranayama, gentle somatic yoga, guided meditation with reiki, crystals and sound healing.
The warm cacao (chocolate) drink gently leads you to a deeper connection within yourself, dissipating blocks and negative energy and returning you into a state of pure love. We will be guided through kundalini pranayama as well as somatic yoga. These gentle mindful movements linked with the breath help lead us to develop a deeper sense of balance, flexibility and well-being. Allowing you to slow even more and settle into a guided journey of meditation into more self discovery, connection, and clarity.
The Gongs will take us deeper as we are bathed in their sound receiving crystal and reiki healing simultaneously. This is an event sure to bust your heart wide open!
Emily Lodge is an Army Veteran and 500-hr E-RYT with a MS in Yoga Therapy. She has been teaching yoga at YogaWorks and Charm City Yoga since 2011 and she was a lead teacher trainer for several years. Her background includes teaching Movement classes and she is an avid student of Capoeira, a Brazilian martial-art that includes arm-balancing, inversions, backbends and flips. Above all, Emily’s hope is to replace your fear with a sense of child-like curiosity and excitement in navigating the relationship between your body and gravity.
Jen Lyons: Believing that yoga is truly a uniting of the mind, body, and higher self, Jen Lyons takes her practice both on and off the mat as a way of life. As a teacher, it is her goal to help guide, strengthen, and deepen the practices of her students, encouraging them to stay true to themselves along the way. Jen completed her first 200 hours of yoga teacher training with Lagos.corp in Costa Rica and rounded out her 500-hour certification in Peru with The Kula Collective. Her studies included specialization in Thai yoga massage, Shamanism, Reiki, and 200 additional hours of continued education through Yogaworks. Classes with Jen, who is Reiki III attuned, often include a mix of crystal and aromatherapy, sound bowls, sacred Cacao ceremonies, and asana-meditation designed to balance the Chakra system.
David Martin: Having begun his path of yoga 11 years ago, David has experienced true transformation of his mind and body. David received his 200 hour certification and Reiki master certification from the University of Maryland Center of Integrative Medicine in 2015. He is now an avid daily student of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan and presented by his masterful teacher, Jai Dev Singh Khalsa. As a Kundalini Yogi, Hatha Yoga teacher and sound healer, David strives to assist people in developing a greater sense of awareness and how our bodies move and heal in space, as well facilitating deep meditation and relaxation through his playing of the Gong.

From the esoteric ideas of Taosim to the very pragmatic way to hold a right angle, we will move through techniques that articulate the Katonah Yoga theory that you may have heard but have not yet made use of in your teaching or embodied in your practice. Whether you are a teacher seeking theory in order to better mentor your students, a student searching to deepen your practice, a practitioner dealing with an injury, or a new practitioner seeking a way to integrate yoga into your life; our intensive will inform, inspire, and usher you on your path towards becoming a sphere of influence in and out of the yoga room. Abbie Galvin is the owner of The Studio, a NYC based yoga studio, teaching Katonah Yoga. She has been honing this practice for the past 25 years and has a strong student-base from all around the world. Abbie's instruction is informed by her own creative process as a filmmaker and from her exploration of the therapeutic process as a psychoanalyst. She has learned over and over that truly participating in any formal process of self-exploration leads to transformation whether it be physical, psychological or intellectual. Mindful Art & Yoga

Awaken your inner artist. Tap into your creative side. Relax and flow. This class will begin with a guided visual imagery meditation to spark your imagination. Then, we will deepen our awareness of breath and utilize this awareness during 20 minutes of slow flow yoga. Lastly, we will practice abhyasa (effort) and vairagya (non-attachment) through painting. You are encouraged to express yourself freely throughout this workshop.
Materials provided: one 8x10 primed canvas board, various acrylic paints, and paint brushes. Take your painting home with you, or donate it to an upcoming art exhibit by Bailey DesRoches.
All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome.
Bailey DesRoches: I was inspired to create art and practice yoga at a young age, to cope when I was facing hardships. I am very grateful to thrive as an artist and yoga practitioner. In 2015, I began my studies at Towson University in Fine Arts. Within the same year, I became dedicated to practicing yoga. I felt a strong sense of community at the yoga studio. Through art and yoga, I developed inner awareness as well as creativity and freedom. I finished my 200 hour yoga teacher training in the fall of 2016 at Yogaworks. I currently teach yoga at multiple studios and gyms in Baltimore city and Towson. In the fall of 2018 I began my 300 hour yoga teacher training through Yogaworks, with Camille Moses-Allen as my mentor. I graduated from Towson University with my Bachelors degree in Fine Arts in the spring of 2018. I am an art teacher for Art with a Heart, a nonprofit organization that offers art education to inner city schools, as well as other community facilities. In addition, I offer guided meditation, yoga, and art classes for adults at various locations in Baltimore city. I believe that my mission in life is to bring people together, to share my knowledge of mindfulness and creativity, and to influence positive change.

Kerianne Brown, CYT 500-hour, is a mindful movement educator and researcher at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She has had success working over the past two years on a mindful movement study for children with ADHD. In addition, she has worked with different in-school and after-school programs to bring mindfulness and yoga to Baltimore City Schools. Kerianne has had the pleasure of working with students of all ages to develop and foster a sense of agency over their bodies and over their emotions. Nadi Sodhana: Experience the Second Series of Ashtanga

Ashtanga yoga’s second series (called Nadi Sodhana) is a fun and dynamic sequence that challenges students to find a steady flow of breath through postures that stimulate the nervous system. Heather and Justin will lead you through an exploration of the sequence of postures. In this workshop you will:
- Get an introduction to the history and philosophy of Nadi Sodhana
- Learn the poses of Ashtanga yoga’s second series
- Learn how to extract information from Ashtanga’s primary series to apply to the second series
- Deepen your current yoga practice through as you explore backbends, deep forward folds, and inversions.
This workshop was created to support students with a steady yoga practice where ever they are currently while providing a look towards the future. This workshop is not suitable for brand new students to yoga.
Heather Hax began her yoga path at what was then Midtown Yoga in 2001. She offers some of the most popular vinyasa classes in the city and co-teaches in Baltimore's first 6 day/week Mysore program. In 2004, she completed her yoga teacher training with Larry Schultz and David Kyle. She studied with Devorah Sacks and Catherine Shaddix in San Francisco. In 2014, Heather completed Richard Freeman's month-long teaching intensive. She also worked with Peg Mulqueen and Jen Rene in their Ashtanga Dispatch yearlong training program. She currently studies with Jen Rene and David Keil every chance she gets. She is grateful for her community of practitioners at YogaWorks Midtown for keeping the fire of the practice burning.

We will finish with Yoga Nidra (“yogic sleep” – a traditional guided meditation during long savasana) to leave you feeling deeply renewed. Lily Dwyer Begg has been teaching yoga since 2005. Her work has brought her to teach in yoga studios internationally, to work therapeutically with private clients, to teach for an NBA basketball team, an NCAA diving team, and at the San Francisco Opera and Ballet. As a bodyworker, Lily’s practice is informed by her lifelong understanding of anatomy as a yogini and a dancer and is strong yet tuned-in, therapeutic yet at the same time delightfully pampering. Her work is founded in the scope of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Sports massage and seeks to help people increase body awareness, unravel long held body tension patterns that are no longer of service, and discover possibilities for healing, pain reduction, and inner harmony. Reiki is an ancient healing art that has proven its effectiveness in reducing pain and promoting recovery from injuries, illness, disease, and depression.
Reiki realigns energy, leading to a state of health, harmony and balance on all levels: the mind, body, spirit, and emotions. Reiki can do no harm, so it compliments all other healing modalities. This practice increases intuition and wellness in the practitioner while also healing the intended recipient of Reiki.
In Reiki Level 1, students will:
- Receive an attunement, so that they can practice Reiki on themselves and others.
- Understand and study the history of Reiki and its present day manifestations will be explained.
- Learn hand positions to facilitate specific healing techniques.
- Explore the many possible uses and applications of Reiki.
- Discuss the responsibilities and ethics of practicing Reiki.
In Reiki 2, you will learn:
- The 3 sacred Reiki symbols and receive a healing attunement to send Reiki through time and space.
- Multiple techniques for sending long distance Reiki to others will be taught and practiced on friends and family.
- The responsibilities and ethics of practicing Reiki will be explored.
- Reiki 2 Prerequisites: Students must be attuned for Reiki 1 before learning Reiki 2. (Previous Reiki 1 training can be with any Reiki Master)
This workshop will be truly transformative and deliver a powerful healing experience to all participants!
