Body Language: Shoulder Opening & Backbend Workshop
by Sarah Ezrin
BODY LANGUAGE: SHOULDER OPENING & BACKBEND WORKSHOP
AUGUST 18, 2018
$55, $45 before 8/4
230 N Larchmont Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90004
Our bodies speak the language of the heart. What is your message?
How we hold ourselves in our body is the message we convey to the world. Our postures speak for us before we even open our mouth. In Buddhism, there is a saying that humans should have a “strong back and a soft front”. A strong back in knowing who we are and what we stand for. A soft front in that we approach the world with an open heart. If the shoulders and upper back are tight from stress or poor alignment, it is difficult to stand tall. Stooped shoulders lead to feelings of heaviness and collapse our overall sense of Self.
In this workshop, we will progress through yummy shoulder-openers, improving mobility in all three planes. We will work on strengthening our back body and learning how to stay open in the heart, despite gravity. With the body strong, open, and receptive, we will end with a series of deep backbends that will leave you standing proud and bright. Improve breath, digestion, mood, and gain increased energy with this special journey!
Some yoga experience required.
