My inspiration comes from all the practitioners who have come before me. From those that come to practice everyday, do their practice to the best of their ability and participate in their communities with mindfulness and compassion.
Why I Practice
My practice teaches me how to go inside and stay with calm measured breathing even while engaging in difficult and demanding physical forms. It teaches me how to harness my energy, contain it and then utilize it in the most efficient way. The mat is the safe place to learn this and so while interacting in the world, no matter the conditions, comfortable or uncomfortable I am able to stay with this reliable and soothing rhythm. To remain calm, composed and responsive.
Why I Teach
This practice is such a gift. I trust it completely. I want to pass on this teaching, exactly as it was taught to me. To keep the lineage alive and to share it anyway I can.
