I take great inspiration from a quote by yoga teacher Jason Crandell. He says, "Yoga is a perfect opportunity to be curious about who you are." This curiosity is the beginning of a conversation we can have on our yoga mat. Curiosity inspires my own practice, my class sequencing, and my playlists. It keeps me continuously open to fresh perspectives.
Why I Practice
I have been practicing yoga for almost 20 years, and I believe in its transformative power. Yoga gives me space; space to pause, to breathe, to be less reactive and more mindful. Through yoga, I have found a true connection to my body. I practiced for many years at Baptiste studios in Boston. I also took an intensive Hatha Yoga course in Thailand, and I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training through Prana Power Yoga in May 2015.
Why I Teach
I teach to give back. I want to give to my students all that I have received over the years. My classes offer a balance of structure, alignment, space, and play. My intention is to guide you toward a deeper awareness of your body, both its strengths and its limitations, knowing that they are both impermanent. This focus allows you to meet your body, wherever you are today. From that place of acceptance, you can truly grow your practice.
