Why I Practice
I took my first yoga class in 2007. I originally undertook the yoga practice to counteract the effects of arthritis in my knees and lumbar spine after weeks of physical therapy to no avail. There has been marked improvement in that respect, but what brings me to the studio on a daily basis is yoga’s ability to calm my mind.
Why I Teach
It’s the healing potential to change lives that ultimately propelled me to become a yoga teacher -- yoga works. I retired from the U.S. Federal Government Senior Executive Service and began yoga teacher training.
