I am deeply inspired by my loving family and pets and our time spent on the island of Martha's Vineyard. My teaching and practice has roots in the Anusara and Ashtanga methods and is continually inspired by my studies with Natasha Rizopoulos, Barbara Benagh, Sarah Powers, and Raghunath Cappo.
Why I Practice
My practice has evolved quite a bit since I wandered into my first class nearly 20 years ago. I was stressed out and suffering from debilitating back pain. A friend suggested I try yoga to help me chill out. I tried a class at my gym and was hooked. Since then, it has helped me slow down and appreciate things I used to take for granted, feel better in my body, and find peace, even when it seems impossible.
Why I Teach
Yoga has truly been gift to me! I teach to share this gift with others. If I can encourage someone to slow down, take a deep breath, and notice what is happening, that's enough. All the other stuff comes later.
