I am inspired by watching someone succeed despite all indications that failure would be the ultimate result; achieving the impossible through solid determination; and then, sharing how you got there with others!
Why I Practice
I was in undergraduate school studying theatre, and we all were required to take movement classes. Unbeknownst to me, a lot of the exercises and stretches can be traced back to yoga. We did lots of sun salutations. I always felt great after a movement class -- more so than working out in the gym. I knew that I wanted to continue the exercises well after the course was completed.
Why I Teach
Being open to myself and to the world around me has made me very centered. I still have anxieties from time to time, but the centering and the calm that yoga brings to me helps me cope with adversities that happen in living a truthful, human life. I teach in order to share these experiences with people so that they may stay in the present moment day to day.
