“The deeper you approach the understanding of human nature, let alone your self, the more you realize that this process is endless.”
Since I remember myself, I’ve always been an adventurous girl, full of ingenuous curiosity and energy. My desire for new experiences led me to California, where I studied with a full scholarship as a basketball at the University of the Pacific College, Stockton, leaving for a few years my birthplace, Greece. After my studies and unfortunately after having suffered numerous injuries, I started to look for something new to replace basketball, and to help my body retreat.
My first yoga lesson was at YogaWorks Main Street studio with Annie Carpenter and it was a love thunder. I immediately became an enthusiastic trainee, following one lesson after another and gaining new experiences. Soon I successfully completed the 200-hour YogaWorks teacher training. There were many more 200 hours of training, workshops, seminars and retreats, as well as an additional 300 hours of therapeutic yoga at the Kripalu Integrative Yoga Therapy Center with Joseph Le Page. Since then, my love for yoga has become stronger.
Life brought me back to Greece, close to my family and loved ones, old and new friends. As a teacher of YogaWorks I am head of the 200 and 300 hours program in Greece, Cyprus and Europe, I teach numerous retreats like “Santorini Loves Yoga” with Ilaengar Yoga Junior Intermediate III and participate in similar conferences throughout the world. Every day, I feel grateful and respectful for this beautiful journey of my life, but also enthusiasm for what’s about to come. Learn more at annazorzou.com.
Natalie is a yoga and pilates mat teacher, a tv-actress, former dancer, writer of 3 books (2 are yoga books) and screenwriter.
She holds a BA in journalism and English from the University of Vienna, Austria.
I took my first yoga class in 1999 with Amy Lafond when I attended drama school in Los Angeles. During my time on a big German tv-show I started my regular yoga practise in Munich, Germany with Petros Haffenrichter. Yoga helped me to relax, sleep better and deal better with stress.
In 2013 I started my YogaWorks training path with my wonderful mentors Heather Seiniger (bridge programm) and Carmen Fitzgibbon (300 hr training). I was also lucky to be partly mentored by Jeanne Heileman.
Spending 6 months in Los Angeles and driving around the city, taking from the best teachers every day was a life changing experience that I still draw from.
I like teaching the Iyengar precision that YogaWorks adapted and developed into a great YogaWorks language to help their students with a good and healthy alignment.Furthermore I remind my students that yoga is more that just asana by adding bits and pieces of philosophy and meditation to my classes. In the end it is all about connecting to the Universal Source and to love.
I am grateful for my mentors: John Gaydos, Heather Seiniger, Anna Zorzou and David Kim for guiding me along the Yoga Trainer Path for the 200 hour YogaWorks Teacher Training.
