The Art of Teaching Restorative Yoga with Minimal Props

Not enough props, no problem. Most studios are not equipped with a variety of props or enough props for big classes. But actually, it is sometimes more relaxing to use less props.

This workshop will show you how to create a deeply nourishing practice with little props and also give you tools to bring restoratives into a Vinyasa or Hatha practice without pulling out a pile of props. You will be amazed at just how deep you can go.

Jillian will lead you though a delicious minimal prop class and through a ‘show and tell’ that will allow you to try many variations yourself. You will leave with a great bag of tricks for your flow classes, privates, meditation and restorative classes. Also great for Pilates teachers, body workers/physical therapists and all caretakers.

This workshop is open to all but is especially great for yoga & pilates teachers, body workers, physical therapist and caretakers. This workshop meets the Yoga Alliance Continuing Education standards.

Guiding and Queuing Students into Deeper states of Relaxation
Learn to bring Your Students Into Deeper States Of Rest And Healing

This workshop is for yoga teachers, healers, and caregivers of all kinds to further develop your skills and tool bag in offering transformational savasana, restorative classes, relaxation sessions, and meditations.

You will learn how to artfully choose words, create imagery, sequence instructions, and craft a pace and tone that will help your students initiate their own healing and rejuvenation.

We will cover general principles of the koshas, nervous system, right and left brain learning and perception, the latest neurological research supporting relaxation and language, and teacher student connection.

We will discuss techniques such as progressive relaxation, meditation, imagery, yoga nidra, and breathing practices to help our students initiate their parasympathetic response of 'rest and digest."

You will leave skillful and confident in guiding 'in the moment experiences', instead of relying on scripts. Your students will benefit from this personal and purposeful approach to conscious relaxation as they journey inward for healing.

Be ready to enjoy sample experiences as well as hands on teaching exercises.
